This is the difference most people miss when moving from iPhone to Samsung. Apple builds a magnet ring into the handset, so any case can pass it through. Galaxy works the other way: the magnet array sits in the case itself. Samsung's own S26 Ultra accessory is called the Clear Magnet Case for exactly that reason.

What follows is that your case choice decides whether you get magnetic mounting at all. Pick a non-magnetic case and there is no magnetic car mount, no snap-on power bank, no self-aligning wireless charger and no way to add it later short of a stick-on ring. If you use any of those, buy the magnetic version from the start.

Magnet strength is worth checking on an Ultra
