Worth knowing if nobody has mentioned it: the iPhone 12 was the first generation Apple built magnets into. Your phone will snap onto a magnetic charger, a magnetic car mount or a magnetic power bank exactly the way a current model does provided the case has a matching ring. A leather folio without one still charges on a flat pad but will not hold on a mount, so check the description before ordering if magnetic mounting matters to you.

Getting the fit right

The 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max are both 6.7 inches with a triple camera, a stainless steel frame and a Lightning port. The difference is the camera housing: the 13 Pro's larger sensors meant a bigger bump, so the cases do not cross in either direction. The 12 Pro is a different size again at 6.1 inches. Check under Settings > General > About before ordering rather than going by appearance.
