Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus Cases

The Plus is the one case makers skip

If finding an S22 Plus case has been harder than it should be, there is a reason. The S22 Ultra gets the attention because it is the flagship, the standard S22 gets it because it sells in volume, and the Plus sits between them with neither advantage. Case makers build for the other two first.

It also will not share with either of them. The Ultra is a squared, Note-style body with four lenses and an S Pen silo. The standard S22 is a smaller phone. The Plus is its own size with a rounded frame and a three-lens module, so nothing cut for its siblings fits. Check under Settings > About phone and match the exact name including Plus, and treat any listing offering to fit "the S22 series" with suspicion.

A wallet case you can take apart

The Hanman Miro is built as two pieces rather than one. A slim inner shell holds the phone and clips into the leather folio with magnets. Carry the whole thing when you want your cards, or pull the shell free and leave the wallet behind. Most wallet cases make that decision permanent at the checkout; this one leaves it open.

It also avoids the problem every one-piece folio has with charging. Cards sitting between the phone and a wireless charger block it completely, so a fixed wallet case has to come off each time. Separate the Miro and the cards stay in the folio, out of the way.

The shell is what makes your S22 Plus magnetic

This matters more on Galaxy than on iPhone. Apple builds a magnet ring into the handset, so any case passes it through. Samsung does not the S22 Plus has no magnets of its own, and most cases leave you with flat-pad wireless charging and nothing else.

The Miro's inner shell carries its own magnet array. Detached from the folio it becomes a slim magnetic case, so the phone will snap onto a magnetic car mount, hold a magnetic power bank on the back, or self-align on a wireless charger. Getting the wallet and the magnetic mounting from one $30 purchase is unusual at this price.

Leather on a large phone

At 6.6 inches with a glass back and an aluminium frame, the S22 Plus is not an easy phone to hold securely one-handed, and it carries enough weight to do real damage when it lands. Leather helps with both it grips where glass and polished metal do not, and the folio cover absorbs impact across the front rather than leaving the screen a couple of millimetres from the ground. The leather is oil and stain resistant and repels fingerprints, so it holds its appearance rather than marking.
