A case that keeps up with the battery

Apple built the iPhone 14 Plus around endurance at launch it had the longest battery life of any iPhone. People bought it to get through a full day away from a charger, which usually means a day away from a desk. If that describes how you use the phone, the case matters more than it would on a handset that spends most of its life indoors.

Telling it apart from the Pro Max

The 14 Plus and the 14 Pro Max are both 6.7 inches and the same shape, so cases look interchangeable. They are not. The check takes a second: the Plus has a dual camera, the Pro Max has a triple. If a case cutout has three openings and your phone has two lenses, it is the wrong case. Confirm under Settings > General > About if you are unsure, and note that the 15 Plus and 16 Plus are also 6.7 inches with their own cutouts.

On a 6.7-inch screen a magnetic car mount is genuinely useful, but check the hold a weak magnet will not keep a phone this size steady. Take the magnetic version rather than adding a stick-on ring later, since adhesive rings drift off-centre over time.
