Still stocking the last small iPhone

Apple made the mini for two generations and then stopped. There is no iPhone 14 mini and there never will be, which means if you own a 13 mini you are not waiting for a smaller replacement you are keeping this one running. Most retailers dropped 5.4-inch stock years ago. We have not, and this page is where the cases that still fit it live.

Do not buy a 12 mini case

This is the mistake to avoid. The iPhone 12 mini and 13 mini are both 5.4 inches, both have a dual camera set diagonally, both use an aluminium frame and a Lightning port. Side by side they are nearly impossible to tell apart, and a 12 mini case will slide onto a 13 mini without resistance.

It still will not fit properly. The 13 mini has larger camera lenses and a smaller notch, so the cutout sits wrong over the camera. Check the exact model under Settings > General > About before ordering, and be careful with listings that say "12/13 mini" very few cases genuinely fit both.

What a case needs to do on a phone this size

At 141 grams the 13 mini is the lightest iPhone of the modern era, and that changes the priorities. Bulk matters more here than on any other model a thick rugged case on a 5.4-inch phone undoes the reason you chose it. Grip matters less, because the phone is small enough to hold securely in one hand.

What does matter is the front lip. A small phone gets pulled out of a pocket more often and handled more casually, so a raised edge around the screen earns its place. Leather flip cases are worth considering for the same reason the cover protects the glass directly, and on a phone this narrow the added thickness is barely noticeable.

Wallet cases and MagSafe

Leather wallet cases start at $25 here, with card slots, a magnetic closure and a coin compartment in the lining. For a small phone that is a practical combination: the case adds roughly the thickness of the cards you were carrying separately, and you leave the wallet at home.

The 13 mini has MagSafe magnets built in, so it will snap to a magnetic charger, car mount or power bank if the case carries a matching ring. A folio without one still charges on a flat pad but will not hold on a mount. Two-piece designs, where the shell detaches magnetically from the wallet, give you both mount the shell on its own and leave the cards behind.
